Where to go in the UAE in the heat or rain
Keep one option indoors near the main route. Severe weather may require cancellation of the entire trip.

Change the rhythm of the day
For hot days, reschedule long walks at more appropriate times and reduce walking distances between buildings. Visit Dubai recommends taking into account the season and offering indoor entertainment options. But the word indoor does not describe the road from the parking lot, the line outside, or the open parts of the complex. Check the site map and the actual route to the entrance.
If the conditions are difficult for a child, elderly companion, or any participant to tolerate, simplify the program. Leave room to eat, drink and rest between visits. Don't add a beach or mountain trail just for the sake of a list you already have. The daily plan can be reduced even when tickets for other dates have already been purchased.
- Check the forecast for the desired area and date.
- Remove long, open walkways from mid-day.
- Compare options side by side, not opposite ends of the city.
Select a replacement by interest and geography
In Dubai, a museum, aquarium or interactive space can replace a walk without changing the main part of the city. For example, inside the Dubai Mall there is the Dubai Aquarium, and for a children's day you can separately consider OliOli. Sessions, age conditions and ticket contents are checked with the operator: the presence of a roof does not mean free seats at any time.
In Abu Dhabi Warner Bros. World confirms fully indoor, air-conditioned format; Louvre and National Aquarium offer a different type of experience. Choose one suitable object instead of several urgent purchases. A water park should not automatically be considered a reliable replacement during thunderstorms or strong winds: the operation of outdoor activities depends on the decision of the operator.
- Prepare a backup object before the start of the day.
- Check the conditions for transferring an already purchased ticket.
- Assess the road and the waiting area at the emergency entrance.
In severe weather, do not attempt to save the route
NCEMA recommends following official warnings and avoiding flooded areas, valleys and hazardous waterways. A trip to a wadi, dam, mountain trail or remote natural point should be canceled if appropriate warnings are given. Rain in the city makes it difficult to independently assess conditions upstream or in the mountains.
An indoor museum also does not make the road safe when the streets are closed and flooded. Check messages from authorities, transport operators and the selected location. If you are at an airport or hotel, remain there if travel is unsafe and follow local instructions. The scheduler does not receive live data about weather, closures and site performance, so its time is not a reason to travel.
After changing the program, check the return time again. A short distance to an alternate location does not mean a short journey due to poor visibility, traffic restrictions or altered public transport routes.
- An official warning is more important than a calculated route.
- Avoid driving through flooded areas to save time.
- Maintain transportation reserves to the airport and eliminate unnecessary stops.
