Meals in UAE hotels: breakfast, half board or cafe

The meal plan must coincide with the travel schedule. Check inclusions for each guest and park food policies.

Compare the surcharge with what you will use

Take the same number with and without meals, then write down the difference for the entire period. Compare it with the actual number of breakfasts or dinners you can attend. An early departure to the airport, a full-day excursion and a late arrival can reduce this number. The name of the package does not replace the terms of a specific tariff.

Check which guests are included, how children's ages are taken into account, what drinks are included and which restaurant the package serves at. Ask if dinner can be substituted for lunch and if you need to make a reservation in advance. If breakfast is missed due to a flight, inquire in advance about the possibility of taking breakfast with you; consider it available only after confirmation.

  • Package supplement is divided by actual meals consumed.
  • Children's accommodation and children's meals are checked separately.
  • The same words half board can have different conditions.

Choose food along the route, and not for the sake of saving at any cost

Visit Dubai publishes a selection of small restaurants and local cuisine, including in Deira and Bur Dubai. Use it as a list of options next to a walk around Old Dubai. Current menus and billing should be checked with the restaurant; selection does not guarantee a fixed price or table availability.

Traveling across town for one budget meal can eat up the price difference. In the Dubai Mall or Marina area, first compare nearby options, portion sizes and total for the whole family. It is more useful for a child to find a suitable menu and a quiet place in advance than to choose an establishment after a long line.

  • Check menus, drinks and surcharges before ordering.
  • Place food between locations rather than on top of a rigid schedule.
  • Don't automatically assume that a restaurant in your selection is the cheapest.

Amusement Park Changes the Normal Food Budget

LEGOLAND Dubai has restrictions on food brought in, with exceptions for children's meals and certain dietary needs. Such rules cannot be transferred to any other park. Before traveling, visit your chosen operator's FAQ and check separately for water, snacks, medical exceptions, and re-entry.

Store meals inside if going out for lunch is inconvenient or the return policy has not been confirmed. A mini-fridge in the room does not mean the presence of a kitchenette: for example, Rove Dubai Marina separately writes about the absence of a kitchenette. If self-cooking is important, look for a confirmed kitchen and equipment, and not just the word apartments in the name.

For several days away, it is convenient to make a separate list of missed meals. This compares the package to a real vacation rather than an ideal schedule in which the family is always at the hotel on time.

  • Save the food and re-entry rules of the selected park.
  • Check the availability of kitchens, utensils and shops at a particular property.
  • Water, snacks and waiting also figure into the daily plan.
